British sign language
British Sign Language (BSL) is a rich, expressive, and visually stunning language. Recognised as an official British language since 2003, BSL has its own unique vocabulary, grammar, and structure, entirely separate from spoken English. This course offers a basic, non-accredited introduction to BSL, equipping participants with the skills to engage in everyday conversations using sign language.
About the Training
The Basic BSL Course is a 10, 20 or 30 week programme designed for complete beginners. Each session is 2 hours per week, offering a practical, supportive introduction to the fundamentals of British Sign Language and Deaf awareness. Participants will learn how to engage in basic everyday conversations in BSL and gain insights into Deaf culture, helping bridge the communication gap between Deaf and hearing individuals.
